HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Designs server and application architectures; performs administrative operation and maintenance functions of server hardware and software. Maintains system security and executes common practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs; monitors and remedies attempt to penetrate or corrupt server files. Maintains baseline configurations and performs modification of configuration settings. Institutes troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems. Provides team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators. Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications. Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Required Experience:
5+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills:
4-8 years' experience as a Linux systems administrator Linux experience and certifications in RedHat Enterprise Linux RHEL 7 or later experience Security+ certification (DoD 8140 requirement) Experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter and virtualized systems (DRS, HA, vMotion, vDS, snapshots, DR strategies, lifecycle management) Experience with Slurpit, Nautobot, AWX, Netpicker, GitLab, or similar automation/configuration platforms Experience with NetApp ONTAP administration (SnapMirror, CIFS/NFS, volumes, SVMs, snapshots, quotas, connectivity, troubleshooting) Database experience with SQL/Postgres/Redis Coding or scripting experience (bash, Python, etc.) Excellent communication and briefing skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow‑through Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
