Land and Development Services Senior Engineer Your Career, Your Community Join Team Salisbury as a Land and Development Senior Engineer in the Land and Development Department. We're seeking a motivated and experienced Professional Engineer (PE) to review and analyze plans and calculations of proposed development and related infrastructure. This role plays a vital part in shaping the city's development and infrastructure while ensuring regulatory compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws. Main duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Reviews construction plans and specifications of proposed developments for compliance with established local, state, and federal codes, standards and technical specifications and sound engineering principles; reviews requests for variances and provides documentation for approvals. Reviews stormwater plans/calculations to ensure compliance with NPDES requirements. Reviews water/sewer plans and verifies calculations for SRU and NCDEQ compliance and assists the City Engineer with administration of locally issued permits. Assists inspectors in field supervision of construction; certifies completed work following construction and reviews as-built plans. Provides technical support to developers and contractors to assist in compliance with local design standards and permitting requirements. Represent the department in cross-departmental meetings, technical review committees, and public discussions. Assists with maintaining and updating the City's construction standards manual.

Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, engineering, construction, project management, or related field Considerable experience in development or municipal engineering and design Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) Possession of valid North Carolina driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)
