However, he will consider waving this requirement for a strong candidate that's not local. This position is responsible for maintaining the availability, security, and resiliency of core infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware virtualization, Cisco UCS compute, NetApp storage, endpoint management, identity services, disaster recovery, backup systems, and enterprise endpoint protection. These platforms support portoperations, public safety, administrative systems, and business applications that operate 24x7. The contractor will also support critical cybersecurity initiatives through vulnerability remediation, security patching, incident response, backup validation, disaster recovery readiness, and implementation of infrastructure security best practices. The role directly supports NC Ports' cybersecurity objectives and ongoing compliance efforts, including implementation of the U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Transportation Security Cyber Risk Management Final Rule. This is requested as a 12-month supplemental staffing resource to provide immediate operational capacity while supporting ongoing modernization initiatives, infrastructure lifecycle management, and increasing cybersecurity requirements.
