Description:
The SITECH Inside Service Technician will report directly to the Service Manager and will be actively responsible for the service and repair various types of optical, laser & electronic construction positioning equipment. The main focus will be in service of Trimble Heavy Civil solutions, including but not limited to Spectra Precision lasers, Nikon Levels and Trimble GPS & optical instruments. The successful candidate will also play a role in the activation of Trimble Hardware, Software & Subscriptions. The essential functions of this position include the following: Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate equipment to factory specifications Become field trained and factory certified on relevant equipment and software Diagnoses hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. Determines the most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime. Explains repair, new product, and extended warranty options to help customers understand their options. Provides prompt and effective service for customers. Provides technical support to customers on operational and maintenance aspects of system equipment. Install & Activate Trimble Software onto Trimble Hardware Pair Trimble's Software Subscriptions with Trimble's Hardware Maintain optical tooling and testing equipment Maintains a professional company image Follows/adheres to defined organizational processes and procedures.
Characteristics / Skills
Able to use hand tools and electronic test equipment A team player able to leverage resources through sound organizational skills Consultative problem solving - involves customer in problem solving by asking appropriate questions. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Experience with Trimble GPS and robotics or similar surveying equipment a benefit Computer Literacy - MS Office, MS Dynamics Self-motivated to continue education on new technologies related to the industry Education/Experience Experience with electronics & electronic repair preferred but not required. Extensive knowledge of SITECH products, typically gained through experience with a dealership or a SITECH equipment manufacturer, is highly desirable. Experience in an operational position is desirable. Key Organizational Interfaces Works with management teams across divisions to drive engagement Works with key decision makers and end users of services. Works with internal SITECH staff including Sales and Service.
