The Girl Scout mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Behind every Girl Scout and volunteer is a team of local staff ready to help them earn that next badge, embark on a camping adventure, or organize an impactful service project. We are Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ) serving girls in grades K-12 in Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Northern Warren counties. We bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to 19,000 girls and 10,200 adult members. At GSNNJ, data helps tell the story of our impact—and shapes how we serve girls, volunteers, and communities every day. We're looking for a curious, analytical, and mission-driven Data and Systems Specialist to turn information into insights that strengthen our programs and guide smarter decisions across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and using insights to advance a mission that truly matters. The Data and Systems Specialist will play a key role in supporting the mission of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey by transforming data into actionable insights that drive membership growth, program engagement, and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from multiple sources and for all departments and various locations at the council to inform strategic decisions and improve council performance. This includes the data and reporting needs of the new GSNNJ DreamLab. The Data and Systems Specialist is responsible for data quality to ensure the integrity of information needed for decision making at all levels of the organization. This role is responsible for system set-up of program products, summer camp and other offerings.Primary Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with all GSNNJ Departments including Membership, Community Engagement, Program, Product Program, Camp, and the GSNNJ DreamLab. Gather cross functional operational data from internal systems and external sources. Predictive analysis of data and data needs for the organization. Clean, validate and analyze historical and current data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that inform council strategy Accountable for the set-up of products for all programs, summer day camp and other GSNNJ offerings including community-based membership opportunities, adult training and outside group use in the appropriate systems and in a timely manner to ensure member access. Ensure quality customer experiences for registration of programs through a clear and seamless registration process Produces statistical reports and analysis as needed including weekly camp comparison, transfers, refunds, cancellations of programs and end of year reports. Ability to create custom reports based on organization needs; Develops dashboards and visual reports to communicate insights effectively to non-technical stakeholder Assist in forecasting membership and program participation using data modeling techniques Partners with leadership to provide actionable insights that support recruitment, retention, and program development Reports on data quality status to the Director of Business Integration for action. Assists the Director of Business Integration on projects to ensure efficiency and accuracy of GSNNJ data. Demonstrates analytical ability; attention to detail; accurate data entry; and accesses, organizes, and manages information effectively. Maintains basic computer literacy with relevant software. Keeps accurate and effectively organized records. Reconcile monthly with the Finance Department. Ability to identify duplicate profiles in the system and merge profiles. Camp collections as needed. Work with the Finance Department to apply Camperships and Financial Aid for programs. Ability to assist in training all pertinent seasonal staff in the Campsite website. Other duties as assigned. Solid data collection, analysis and reporting experience Technical proficiency with analytical tools Ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights through presentations, visualizations and written summaries. Associate degree (bachelor's preferred) or equivalent experience in related field. Experience using a customer relationship management system and knowledge of Girl Scouts preferred. Excellent customer service skills and strong oral and written communication skills. Strong skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, organization and data analysis. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and creatively solve problems Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce or other CRM software experience preferred Attention to detail; comfortable with recurring tasks and data entry. Ability to work occasional nights and weekends. Membership in GSUSA is required upon employment and annually thereafter (cost covered by the council). Ability to travel occasionally throughout the jurisdiction to attend Girl Scout meetings during the day/evening/weekend.Similar remote jobs
