Driver's License Network management Computer hardware Desktop (troubleshooting support) Customer engagement Computer networking DNS Server virtualization VMware TCP/IP Server management Active Directory ESXi Full Job Description Job Overview We are and MSP seeking skilled and motivated Field IT Technician / System Admin with expertise in network and server installation, configuration, and maintenance . This role involves a combination of remote administration and traveling to local client sites to deliver high-quality IT services, including installing, troubleshooting and configuring servers, network equipment, and other infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused approach. Key Responsibilities Working from our office 8:30AM - 5:00PM, Monday through Friday. Part of the on-call rotation - approximately once every 10-12 weeks. Working from home may also be permitted due to inclement weather.Network Installation & Configuration:
Set up and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Perform network cabling, testing, and troubleshooting. Ensure network devices are properly secured and optimized for performance.Server Installation & Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers. Deploy operating systems, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and storage solutions. Implement server roles such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file sharing.Troubleshooting & Support:
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on-site. Provide technical support for server and network environments. Collaborate with remote support teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of installations, configurations, and repairs. Document network diagrams and server configurations for reference. Provide regular updates to the team and clients on project progress.Customer Interaction:
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide technical recommendations. Ensure minimal disruption during installations and maintenance activities. Provide on-site technical support for hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution of client concerns. Perform software troubleshooting to identify and resolve application-related problems. Assist clients with help desk inquiries, guiding them through basic troubleshooting steps. Configure and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN), including setting up firewalls and managing Group Policy Objects (GPO). Conduct assessments of computer networking setups, ensuring optimal performance and security. Support mobile devices by troubleshooting connectivity issues and application performance. Install, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware components as needed. Utilize knowledge of TCP/IP protocols to diagnose network connectivity problems. Document all interactions with clients in a clear and concise manner for future reference. This is a great opportunity for someone who: Has an advanced knowledge of and current experience with all forms of computer and server hardware, software, operating systems (Windows Desktop OS, Windows Server OS & MacOS), e-mail services (POP3/IMAP/Microsoft Exchange/Office 365 Exchange Online), and LAN/WAN networking;- Has a thorough knowledge of and current experience with standard business applications, such as Microsoft Office, QuickBooks and other commonly used software packages;
