PRISM is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator (AWS) to administer, monitor, and maintain our enterprise cloud environments across production and non-production tiers. This individual will be a skilled infrastructure professional with 5+ years of core Linux systems administration experience, ready to apply a strong OS, storage, and networking foundation directly to modern AWS infrastructure. You will serve as the primary operational safeguard for cloud availability, performance, and security baselines—handling day-to-day AWS administration, executing template-based changes, driving technical troubleshooting, enforcing IAM governance, and participating in an on-call rotation to guarantee operational continuity. This is a hybrid Position with 2-3 days on site in Tysons, VA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
AWS Cloud Infrastructure & Operations:
Administer, monitor, and support core AWS services, including Systems Manager, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Lambda.
Manage AWS networking components end-to-end:
VPCs, public/private subnets, route tables, Security Groups, Network ACLs, NAT Gateways, Elastic Load Balancing (ALB/NLB), Site-to-Site VPNs, and Transit Gateways. Support infrastructure provisioning, drift remediation, and configuration updates using existing Terraform modules or CloudFormation templates. Assist with automated patching, backup verification, disaster recovery drills, and routine maintenance across cloud instances. Maintain operational documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), system runbooks, and support articles.
Troubleshooting, Incident Response & Reliability:
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, application, and connectivity issues, coordinating root-cause analysis and resolution with internal engineering teams and third-party vendors. Assist team members with technical troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to senior engineers and architects when necessary. Monitor environment health and performance using CloudWatch and enterprise tooling; triage alerts and execute prompt corrective actions. Handle operational incidents and service requests in line with SLAs, participating in an on-call rotation for outage remediation and maintenance windows.
Security, Identity & Governance:
Administer user access and IAM controls (users, roles, instance profiles, policies, boundaries) following the principle of least privilege. Partner with Cyber Security teams to support vulnerability remediation efforts, system auditing, and security baseline compliance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
(SKILLS/EDUCATION): Commercial Background Bachelor's degree
Linux Administration:
5+ years of hands-on enterprise Linux experience (RHEL, CentOS/Rocky, Ubuntu) managing systemd, storage/LVM, patching, and OS performance diagnostics.
AWS Core Services:
Systems Manager, EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Lambda.
