Senior Service Engineer

Description We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer to join our enterprise client. This long-term 100% remote contract position involves supporting backend lab and infrastructure operations to ensure secure, efficient, and automated systems for internal teams in a dynamic development environment. The role requires a strong technical background and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

+ Design and build Azure Data Explorer (ADX) dashboards backed by advanced KQL queries + Develop and optimize complex KQL, including cross-cluster joins and large-scale query performance tuning + Troubleshoot query latency, ingestion issues, and data modeling challenges + Support monitoring and analytics for bare metal and hybrid environments using Azure Arc and Azure Monitor Agent (AMA) + Implement secure access patterns using managed identities and federated identity authentication + Build automation using Azure Automation Accounts, runbooks, Azure Functions, and event-driven workflows + Create Power Automate flows and Azure Logic Apps to automate operational and reporting scenarios + Administer and optimize Windows Server environments by performing system updates, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing performance. + Develop and implement PowerShell scripts to automate processes such as onboarding, alert configurations, and system remediations. + Create and maintain custom dashboards, alerts, and proactive monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics. Requirements + At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field. + Proficiency in Active Directory and Azure Active Directory management. + Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration and troubleshooting. + Advanced expertise in KQL and Azure Data Explorer + Proven experience with ADX dashboards, cross-cluster queries, and performance optimization + Strong understanding of modern Azure identity and access models + Hands-on experience monitoring infrastructure with Arc and AMA agents + Practical experience building cloud automation and workflows in Azure + Hands-on experience with Power BI Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
