Job Description

Senior System Administrator, WindowsOur Client is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support Windows systems and cloud infrastructure within a federal technology environment. This role will focus on Windows server administration, AWS environments, system configuration, upgrades, performance, backups, and infrastructure management. Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance, at least 8 years of relevant experience, and hands on experience supporting Windows systems in AWS environments. Infrastructure as Code experience is required.

Job Roles and ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, administer, and maintain Windows workstations and servers, including web servers.

Support Windows systems operating within AWS cloud environments.

Perform operating system and software installations, upgrades, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.

Schedule and execute system upgrades in accordance with established information technology policies and procedures.

Monitor and tune systems to maintain performance, availability, and reliability.

Maintain workstation and server data integrity through appropriate software and hardware solutions.

Implement and manage system backup and recovery processes.

Support database archive operations and data recoverability requirements.

Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and technical documentation.

Maintain accurate hardware, operating system, software configuration, and supporting documentation.

Support Infrastructure as Code practices within cloud and systems administration environments.

Qualifications and CertificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant field.8 or more years of relevant system administration or infrastructure experience.

Active Top Secret security clearance required.

Strong Windows system and server administration experience.

Hands on experience supporting Windows systems in an AWS environment.

Infrastructure as Code experience required.

Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining operating systems and software.

Experience with system performance monitoring and optimization.

Experience implementing and managing backup and recovery processes.

Experience maintaining system configurations and technical documentation.

AWS certifications are highly preferred.
