About the role:
As a Linux Administrator intern, you will help ensure the stability, security, and performance of Linux servers. The Linux Administrator intern collaborates with the IT team to handle Linux-based infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to users. You will report to the Linux Services Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high reliability of Linux-based infrastructure Collaborate with teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss and maintain business continuity Automate system administrative tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python to refine processes and improve efficiency Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure system security and data integrity Install, configure, and maintain network services, including DNS, DHCP, and LDAP Recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and scalabilityQualifications:
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in information systems Completed Sophomore year of college Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, SLES, or Red Hat proficiency Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting Proficient in virtualization technologies, such as VMware or KVM We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices.
