Responsibilities:
Platform Administration Administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, and Intune, from user requests and troubleshooting through configuration changes and improvements. Partner with the Security Engineer on Conditional Access, MFA, vulnerability remediation, and log retention. Manage device provisioning and compliance with Intune and Windows Autopilot. Administer RMM/patch management, including patch deployment rings, monitoring, and remediation of failed patches. Maintain software inventory and license management across our SaaS platforms. Administer our phone and video conferencing platform, handle email archive requests, and support other business systems as assigned. Help administer the firm's enterprise AI platform, including user access, integrations, and security settings, in partnership with our Operations team. Verify backup coverage, review backup results, and run periodic restore tests. Look for ways to use what we already own more effectively, and bring well-reasoned recommendations to the IT Director. Support and Coverage Serve as Tier 2 escalation for the Support Specialist, and share Tier 1 coverage during peaks. Support colleagues in all offices and remote locations, with occasional travel to other firm offices. Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule for general user support, typically one week per month. Write and maintain runbooks, configuration documentation, and user-facing how-to articles. This is a role for an experienced generalist who likes owning systems end to end, notices what could work better, and follows through. Your work is visible, your recommendations get acted on, and you will be relied on to document what you build so others can cover for you. The firm supports ongoing training and professional development, and we expect you to keep learning.
Requirements:
5+ years of systems administration experience in a business environment, including meaningful hands-on responsibility for Microsoft 365 and Entra ID. Experience with Intune or another modern device management platform, and with an RMM or patch management tool. Comfort with PowerShell or similar scripting for administration and automation. Strong troubleshooting instincts and a habit of documenting what you fix. Clear, patient communication with non-technical colleagues, in person and in writing. Sound judgment with confidential information. Experience in a law firm or other professional services environment is a plus. We value demonstrated ability over credentials.
