IT Director Purpose of Position The IT Department at FMAA provides reliable, secure network infrastructure that supports the data and voice systems used by all airport departments. In addition, FMAA IT supports all airline passenger processing within the airport. The Systems and Network Administrator supports this infrastructure and its users. This is a professional position governed by Montana law and FMAA policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this classification. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk support to all airport and stakeholder employees. Support the airport's LAN, WAN, firewalls, switches, and servers both on-site and remotely. Support the SITA common use passenger processing system (CUPPS). This includes complicated tickets between multiple stakeholders, vendors and FMAA staff. Support security systems including physical access control, security cameras, and identity management systems. Manage complex, technical projects spanning many months. Train users in IT and cyber security best practices. Keep abreast of industry best practices. Attend relevant training courses on systems, hardware, and software used at the airport. Maintain and build documentation in asset management system. Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Minimum 4 years of professional experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, systems administration, help desk operations, or other enterprise technology environments. Candidates lacking a 4 year degree may be considered if they meet the experience requirements
Preferred Knowledge:
Strong technical understanding of LANs, WANs, WLANs, TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, cyber-security standards, and firewall rules Microsoft software to include 365, Sharepoint, Teams, Outlook web, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, MDM, Hyper-V, SQL Kaseya RMM Beyond Trust PRA or Bomgar IT Glue HPE/Aruba switching, Aruba Central, Clearpass Cambium point to point radio systems Skills in: Customer service, including maintaining a positive attitude during times of stress Strong attention to detail Problem solving using remote tools Project Management Managing multiple priorities concurrently Ability to: Work effectively with many interruptions. Establish strong working relationships with Airport users, the public, the Airport Authority Board, the staff, and other government agencies. Acquire considerable knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and policies that affect airports
Working Conditions:
Requires constant use of hands to handle or feel objects and to type and use the keyboard and mouse. Frequently required to sit, talk, write, listen, and read. Requires ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and to reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May occasionally be subject to loud equipment noise. May require weekend or overtime work in the case of disasters, emergencies, or special projects. Participation in on-call rotation for IT department. This could constitute after hours and weekend calls with no notice which may require on-site assistance. Special Requirements Must be able to pass a federal background check, fingerprint-based criminal history investigation, and security threat assessment. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Participation in the IT department on-call rotation is required and may involve remote or on-site response outside normal business hours.
