Job Requirements North Charleston, SC Secret Polygraph not specified Early Career (2+ yrs experience) Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Linux Systems Administrator (Active Secret Clearance Required) Insight Global is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support a leading government services client in Charleston, SC. This position supports Navy programs focused on secure infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and systems administration within a classified environment. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux administration experience, experience supporting enterprise networking environments, and an active DoD Secret Clearance. Based on the provided requisition, this is an onsite position supporting mission-critical Navy systems. Responsibilities Administer and maintain Red Hat Linux and Windows server environments Support Cisco-based networking infrastructure including routers, switches, VLANs, and network troubleshooting Deploy, configure, and maintain virtualized environments utilizing VMware and related technologies Support secure, isolated, and air-gapped environments Configure and maintain Linux repositories, system updates, and software deployment processes Create and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency and system reliability Provide systems administration support for physical and virtual infrastructure Perform patching, upgrades, migrations, backup administration, and disaster recovery activities Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and user access issues Collaborate with engineering and operational teams to support development and production systems Required Qualifications Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar Linux distributions Experience supporting Cisco networking environments Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies Security certification such as Security+, CISSP, or equivalent Operating system certification such as Linux+, CCNA, or similar Experience with storage technologies such as NFS, SMB, iSCSI, or LVM Strong troubleshooting and systems support experience Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Navy or DoD environments Experience with OpenShift, container technologies, or DevOps concepts Experience with database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc.) Experience with software version control systems Experience supporting air-gapped or highly secure environments
