System Administrator

North Charleston, SC

Contract Position

$47.00/Hour

Active Secret Clearance Required to Start

Responsibilities:

Lead Windows system administration tasks including configuration, patching, and performance tuning for Windows Server 2012/2016, SQL Server 2014, and Windows 10 environments.

Travel to customer sites to oversee installation, upgrades, and support of software and hardware in line with military systems architecture and IT policies.

Configure and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange environments for secure, high-availability operations.

Support workstation imaging, deployment, and management using enterprise-level tools.

Perform HBSS configuration and deployment, and support system compliance through IAVA, STIGs, and ACAS standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows domains, network services (DNS, DHCP, WINS), registry settings, and directory structures.

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, escalating complex issues when necessary.

Monitor and optimize system and network performance for operational continuity.

Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

Mentor junior administrators, supporting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

Participate in long-term strategic planning of military systems infrastructure, incorporating evolving technologies.

Qualifications:
Clearance:

Active Secret Clearance required

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred

Experience:

Several years of hands-on system administration experience in DoD or secure environments

Travel:

Must be willing and able to travel nationally and internationally for customer needs.

Required Skills:

Strong expertise in Windows Server 2012/2016 and Microsoft SQL Server 2014

Basic proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6+

Proven experience with Active Directory, DNS, 802.1x Authentication, Group Policy, and PKI.

Familiarity with HBSS, STIGs, IAVA, and ACAS security compliance

Proficient in troubleshooting registry, networking, and Windows services

Experience with software distribution, workstation imaging, and system rollout

Preferred Skills:

Exchange Server

Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS)

Virtualization experience with VMware or Hyper-V

Exposure to cloud platforms is a plus

Trellix and basic Networking
