Job Description Bates Ford is seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive Service Technician to join our busy service center. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of Ford passenger cars, SUVs, and commercial trucks. We are looking for a professional who takes pride in accurate diagnostics and high-quality mechanical repairs. Whether you are performing routine maintenance or complex engine troubleshooting, you will play a critical role in keeping our customers safe on the road. We provide a steady flow of customer pay and warranty work so you can maximize your flat rate hours every single week. Job Type Full-time Schedule Monday through
Friday Rotating Saturdays No Sundays Work Requirements Experience:
Previous professional automotive repair experience in a dealership or independent shop is required.
Driver's License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
Tools:
Ownership of a comprehensive, professional set of automotive tools and a roll-around storage cart. Ability to commute to Lebanon, TN.
Responsibilities Diagnostics:
Utilize advanced factory diagnostic equipment to accurately isolate mechanical, electrical, and computer network faults.
Precision Repair:
Perform high-quality repairs on engines, transmissions, steering, suspensions, braking systems, and electrical components to factory specifications.
Routine Maintenance:
Execute multi-point safety inspections, fluid flushes, alignments, and general preventative maintenance tasks efficiently.
Quality Assurance:
Adhere to Fixed Right First Time standards to eliminate comebacks and ensure absolute customer safety.
Documentation:
Provide clear, detailed, and accurate write-ups on repair orders detailing diagnostic procedures, root causes, and exact corrections.
Safety Protocols:
Follow all dealership processes, equipment handling guidelines, and safety standards to maintain a clean and professional work environment. Qualifications 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent Ford Certification Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred Proven track record of high productivity and accuracy in a professional shop environment. Deep understanding of automotive mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnostic logic. Strong work ethic, personal integrity, and a team-oriented mindset. Ford factory training or active ASE certifications are highly preferred, but we will consider any qualified technician with a strong diagnostic background. Why Join the Bates Ford Team?
