Systems Administrator Confidential Irving, TX Job Details Full-time 19 hours ago Qualifications Vendor relationship building Full Job Description This role owns the design, configuration, and day-to-day administration of the organization's network, cloud, and server infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and able to scale as the business grows. Core focus areas include maintaining strong security and compliance practices, resolving technical incidents and service requests, managing IT assets and vendor relationships, and keeping system documentation and disaster recovery plans current and audit-ready. This position also serves as a technical mentor to junior IT staff, acts as a second-level escalation point for the broader help desk, and partners closely with the IT team on project strategy, design, and delivery. Role Competencies
    Network Infrastructure Management:
    Designs, configures, and administers network systems, including switches, routers, and firewalls. Applies hands-on knowledge of VPN, Wireless
    LAN, WAN
    technologies, VLANs, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
      Cloud & Platform Administration:
      Manages the Azure cloud platform and third-party CSP, partnering with IT leadership on capacity and scalability planning. Manages Office 365 deployment across the organization.
        Systems Administration:
        Manages Microsoft Windows systems, including performance tuning, security, disaster recovery, and capacity planning related to Active Directory, File Servers, Exchange Mail Servers, SQL Server, and Message Archiver. Administers web servers and backup/recovery procedures.
          Security & Compliance:
          Ensures security measures are in place and administers KnowBe4 monthly testing and reporting, leading improvement initiatives. Works with third parties to continually improve the company's security posture, complies with established policies, SOX procedures, and guidelines, and ensures hardware/software licensing compliance.
            Incident & Service Management:
            Tracks and resolves incidents, responds to systems and network-related alerts and escalations, and works with the IT team on strategic solutions to recurring problems. Administers the Freshservice ticketing system, workflows, and monthly reports, and acts as second-level escalation for corporate help desk issues.
              Asset & Vendor Management:
              Manages asset inventory and replacement, the VOIP phone system, and the sourcing and maintenance of third-party software licenses. Partners with HR, IT, and other leadership in managing building maintenance vendors.
                Documentation & Disaster Recovery:
                Maintains system documentation, including configuration documentation, procedures, and related disaster recovery plans. Conducts disaster recovery tests and documentation, administers the document management system, and coordinates testing and migration of new software, upgrades, and enhancements to the production environment.
                  Team Leadership & Mentorship:
                  Mentors the Jr. System Administrator and works closely with other IT team members on project strategy, design/architecture, testing, and delivery. Leads and mentors junior staff and provides periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning. Skills and Qualifications
                  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
                  • 5+ years of experience in an enterprise network environment.
                  • 3+ years of Windows Server system administration experience.
                  • 2+ years of experience with Azure and Office 365 cloud environments.
                  • Documented experience working with hosting and managed service providers.
                  • Experience administering web servers.
                  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
                  • Hands-on experience with VPN, Wireless LAN, and WAN technologies, security, and firewalls.
                  • Extensive knowledge of VLANs, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
                  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills.
                  • Skilled in managing complex implementation projects.
                  • Microsoft or Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, MCSE) a plus.
                  • Self-starter, results-oriented, independent, inquisitive, with strong attention to detail.
                  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
                  • Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and testing skills.
                  • Must be willing to be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation and to work flexibly across IT areas as business needs require.
