Contract, placed on-site with Loudoun County Government About the Opportunity SPS Consulting is seeking a Cable and Broadband Services Specialist to support Loudoun County Government on a contract basis. In this role, you'll work directly with County staff to help expand and manage broadband access across the County — advising on broadband, wireless, and cable technologies, administering the cable franchise agreement, and serving as a key liaison between the County, residents, and businesses on broadband matters. This is a great opportunity for a telecommunications or broadband professional looking to apply their expertise in a public-sector setting through SPS. What You'll Do Advise County staff on legislation, policies, and procedures related to broadband, wireless, and cable technology development Administer the cable franchise agreement and related contracts Serve as point of contact for citizen and business inquiries regarding cable service and broadband access Support expansion of broadband into rural areas of the County, including identifying needed ordinance changes Attend and document Communications Commission meetings; prepare agendas, minutes, and website updates Prepare reports and presentations for County leadership and the Board of Supervisors Research state and federal broadband grant and funding opportunities Assist with RFP development and vendor/contractor oversight What You'll Need Bachelor's degree plus one year of related experience (government setting preferred); equivalent combination of education/experience considered Working knowledge of networking, cabling, and wireless technologies Experience with tools such as SharePoint, Teams, ServiceNow, or similar project management software a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass fingerprinting and background checks ITIL, PMP, or CAPM certification preferred, not required Good to Know Occasional after-hours/weekend availability may be required for County-wide data communications support or emergencies Ability to lift/carry up to 20 lbs This is a contract position through SPS Consulting, supporting a Loudoun County Government engagement Why SPS Consulting SPS Consulting places skilled professionals into meaningful public-sector roles across the region, offering competitive contract pay, a dedicated support team, and the chance to build your resume with government-agency experience.
