DescriptionAWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. The Generator Service Technician has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within data center operations. The person in this role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and providing quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures. The Generator Service Technician is both the technical expert and primary customer support contact to the customer, and is therefore responsible for continually communicating with the customer to provide an exceptional customer experience and drive data center up-time and availability.
Basic Qualifications

Lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position. Key job responsibilities- Know and follow all Company safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participate in company accident prevention and safety improvement activities
- Respond to customer requests
- Travel to designated sites and perform professional quality field service repairs consistent with company standards
- Advise the Generator Service Manager of parts needed for necessary repairs
- Keep Generator Service Manager continually apprised, and utilize leadership to assist in answering customer questions and problems when necessary
- Document detailed, complete and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed
- Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage
- Travel 80-90% of the time in an assigned region, and/or work overtime, weekends, or holidays, sometimes on short notice
- Lift up to 40 lbs frequently; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 40 lbs
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required A day in the life The Generator Service Technician has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within data center operations.
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.) experience
- Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experiencePreferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience
- Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings
