Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Administrator 4 for a contract/hybrid position in Newport News, VA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience. Master's Degree and 8 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. o Windows Server design, deployment, security, and support in an enterprise environment. o Server virtualization and automation expertise in an enterprise environment. o Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry regulations, such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and
SOX. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. o Design, implement, and maintain complex Windows Server infrastructures, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
Linux Systems Operations:
Configure, monitor, and actively troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers and environments. Serve as an escalation point for complex RHEL operational issues. o Architect and manage large-scale virtualization environments, including VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-based platforms. o Design and implement converged infrastructure solutions, such as Simplivity, to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs. o Develop and maintain advanced automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or other languages to streamline complex administrative tasks.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree. Education must be accredited.
WORK HOURS
5/40 workweek. This is a hybrid-remote position. We expect this position to be onsite two to three days per week. The first weeks of training will be onsite.
