General Public- G Job Duties The Virginia Department of General Services (DGS) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Scientist in the Sample Support Services Group for the Commonwealth's Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services (DCLS), which is one of the largest and most diverse consolidated state laboratories in the nation.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge of general laboratory terminology, procedures and basic mathematics Knowledge of laboratory safety practices for the handling of chemical, microbiological, infectious and toxic materials Experience with accessioning high volumes of clinical and/or environmental samples accurately Experience providing customer service by investigating issues and resolving problems for internal and external customers. Experience with laboratory information management system (LIMS) Ability to follow procedures, prioritize work and identify errors Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds This position will be in Richmond, Virginia and must report on-site.
