Job Type:
Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician / 2-Way Radio Installer to support installation, troubleshooting, repair, and programming of two-way radio and wireless communication systems. This role involves both in-shop and fieldwork, supporting mission-critical communication systems across various industries. Key Responsibilities Manage the full technical lifecycle: scoping, programming, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing of communication equipment. Install and integrate mobile radios, repeaters, tablets, wireless modems, antennas, speakers, sirens, lights, and related hardware into vehicles. Perform installations across diverse fleets including police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, school buses, and commercial vehicles. Diagnose and resolve issues with wireless communication systems efficiently and professionally. Repair equipment by replacing defective components using standard troubleshooting methods. Install and configure coaxial cabling, connectors, antennas, and related infrastructure. Perform firmware/software updates and minor circuit modifications as required. Ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. Support and maintain critical communication systems for public safety and public service organizations. Travel to client sites and participate in on-call support as needed.
Required / Preferred
Qualifications Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing two-way radio or wireless systems. Knowledge of RF systems, audio electronics, digital circuits, and communication equipment. Understanding of RF propagation and two-way radio theory. Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams. Hands-on experience with tools such as crimpers and soldering equipment. Familiarity with battery backup systems and wireless infrastructure. Basic knowledge of computer systems and TCP/IP networking. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Strong communication skills and a professional attitude. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to lift equipment as required. Project management or leadership experience is a plus.
