INSURANCE SERVICES SUPPORT ASSOCIATE
Appleton Planning Department Overview o The responsibility of the Insurance Services Support Associate is to provide critical aspects of insurance sales support to new advisors, to ensure their focus remains on meeting with clients and potential clients (client building). This support reduces the amount of time new representatives spend on administrative tasks to secure and process business. o The Support Associate subscribes to the philosophy, principles and practices of Northwestern Mutual and the Network Office. Critical competencies in this position include priority setting, exceptional communication skills, work accuracy and quality, ability to be diplomatic, handle change, pressure, and feedback, along with an innovative mindset.
POSITION RESONSIBILITIES
Operations Support Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with assigned new advisors using a standing agenda. Assess & work with new advisor to develop scalable processes in alignment with NM digital sales cycle. Create and maintain compliant digital client file folders including case notes into CRM. Planning & Sales Support Case prep including requesting sales illustrations, agendas, and related materials for the approach, close, delivery and client review. Partner with the Home Office Financial Planning Services Department (FPS) to request high quality, life-stage appropriate plans, and client review kits. Sales Cycle Agenda & Follow Ups Sales Cycle Agenda & Follow Up Email Templates. Underwriting & Service Support Insurance Application Process (goal is to process business promptly, resolve issues through underwriting, and work towards commission authorization, when applicable) Begin insurance application leveraging current NM digital systems. Manage applications through the underwriting process by pre-filling, checking applications for completeness and accuracy and submitting. Schedule medical requirements and medical exams as needed. Monitor the Daily Status Report (DSR) and take action on cases needing attention. Follow up with clients based on underwriting needs including medical information, clarifications on applications, or as requested by underwriter. Process client service requests; including, but not limited to, address changes and billing account information, and beneficiary requests. Post approval of policies and follow up New Advisor Development Review home office communication and assure that the financial representatives are informed on a timely basis of any procedural changes with applications. Work with fellow team members and agency leadership to determine training and support needs of the new financial representatives. Provide feedback for financial representative Board of Review. Help advisors develop habits, systems, and processes in partnership with Network Office Planning Department & Home Office FPS. Workstation Set Up, Marketing Administer Marketing Start-up kit (business cards, stationery, e-mail auto signature) Set up workstation including name tag, welcome letter, and ensure workstation is neat and presentable. Provide prospecting Feed list template Maintain Planning Department Insurance Services OneDrive file including: Planning & Product Brochures Planning & Product Brochures. Leadership Understand and stay current with digital sales cycle & most recent version of HO Financial Planning Guide. Financial Planning Guide Maintain adequate coverage for all new financial advisors through cross-training and back-up of fellow team members. FT and CFR Roster Mapping. Assist team with quarterly sessions with all new advisors in training room on Planning Department Insurance Services, and best practices, using PD IS Capabilities slide deck Insurance Services Capabilities Deck. Other projects as assigned by Network Office Director of HR & Operations
