Job Description
Overview Our client is undertaking a large-scale network infrastructure replacement and migration initiative across multiple locations and data closets. They are seeking experienced professionals to support the project by coordinating network equipment migrations, updating documentation, managing cabling activities, and working with internal teams and external vendors to ensure a smooth transition. This role is heavily focused on project coordination, physical infrastructure support, documentation, and migration activities. Major network configurations and after-hours cutovers will be handled by the core network engineering team. Key Responsibilities + Coordinate network infrastructure migrations with internal technology teams and external vendors. + Schedule and oversee network closet upgrade activities. + Assist with racking, unracking, and relocating network equipment. + Support cabling migration efforts as switches, routers, and related hardware are replaced. + Maintain accurate inventory records for network equipment, cabling, and assets. + Update network documentation, labeling, diagrams, and asset management systems. + Coordinate IP address changes and validate connectivity following migrations. + Update and maintain network management and IP address management platforms, including tools such as: + Cisco ISE + Infoblox + Cisco Catalyst Center (or similar network management platforms) + Partner with network, server, application, and operations teams to minimize business disruption during migration activities. + Provide post-migration validation and basic troubleshooting of connectivity, cabling, and device functionality. + Document all project activities, schedules, changes, and rollback procedures. Required Skills + Network cabling and infrastructure support + Troubleshooting network connectivity issues + Experience working with routers and switches + Strong organizational and coordination skills + Experience supporting network migration or infrastructure upgrade projects + Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project activities simultaneously + Excellent communication and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications + Experience with Cisco networking environments + Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches + Knowledge of network management and monitoring platforms + Experience with IP address management (IPAM) tools such as Infoblox + Familiarity with Cisco ISE, Catalyst Center, or similar enterprise networking tools + Experience supporting large-scale technology infrastructure deployments Ideal Candidate + Strong project coordination and organizational abilities + Hands-on experience with network infrastructure environments + Comfortable working with multiple teams, vendors, and technical stakeholders + Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills + Able to balance physical infrastructure work with project coordination responsibilities + Proactive problem solver with a customer-service mindset
Experience Level:
Intermediate This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a combination of network infrastructure knowledge and project coordination experience who enjoys working on large-scale technology deployment and migration projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
