This position is ideal for someone with strong generator service experience who wants to help build and elevate the department over time. Diagnose and troubleshoot engine performance, fuel systems (LP/NG), and electrical control systems, including ATS functionality. Serve as a professional, customer-facing representative by clearly communicating system status, repair needs, and upgrade opportunities. Manage daily workflow using ServiceTitan for dispatching, documentation, invoicing, and time tracking. Maintain route readiness, truck stock, and materials to operate efficiently in the field. Collaborate with the Generator Department Manager and Project Coordinator to resolve scheduling or job site issues quickly. Support installation efforts, system setup, and testing as needed, while also contributing to the development of team capability through ride-alongs and knowledge sharing. As experience grows, take on increasing responsibility in mentoring junior technicians, improving workflows, and supporting department scalability. Key Sub Tasks for the Generator Service / Install Technician Role Perform maintenance on generators (Generac, Briggs, Kohler, Cummins) following company standards Troubleshoot and repair generator systems including engine, fuel, and electrical components Document all service work, notes, and time tracking in ServiceTitan Communicate clearly with customers regarding service findings, repairs, and recommendations Use company pricing to quote and collect payment for completed work Maintain truck inventory and request restock materials as needed Coordinate with management on scheduling issues or field challenges Assist with generator installations and shop-based system setup and configuration Complete vehicle inspections and maintain equipment readiness Participate in a rotating on-call schedule as the role progresses Desired Skills and Experience Proven experience in generator service and maintenance, specifically with Generac, Cummins, Kohler, or Briggs & Stratton systems Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability across mechanical and electrical systems Ability to read schematics and understand generator control systems and ATS operation Experience with ServiceTitan or similar CRM platforms preferred Factory training or manufacturer certifications highly preferred Ability to work independently and contribute quickly with minimal ramp-up time Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset Interest in mentoring others and growing into a Lead Technician or leadership role Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements Alignment with Current Electric core values, including accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your contributions drive company success, then you may be the perfect fit for our team!
