Position Overview We are seeking a Network Technician I to support physical network infrastructure and data center operations within a mission-critical environment. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage systems, IT support, or data center operations who are looking to build a career in network infrastructure. The Network Technician I will be responsible for installing and supporting fiber and copper cabling systems, performing rack and equipment installations, maintaining cable management standards, and assisting with network infrastructure projects in active production environments. Responsibilities

+ Install, rack, and secure network hardware including switches, routers, patch panels, and supporting equipment.

+ Install, route, dress, label, and manage fiber optic and copper cabling.

+ Perform patching and connectivity tasks according to established procedures.

+ Assist with equipment deployments, relocations, and decommissioning activities.

+ Trace circuits and validate connectivity for network infrastructure.

+ Conduct cable audits, port audits, and inventory verification.

+ Troubleshoot physical layer connectivity issues.

+ Maintain accurate labeling, documentation, and asset records.

+ Follow established safety procedures and operational standards within active data center environments.

+ Support project teams during moves, adds, and changes (MAC work).

+ Maintain clean and organized rack, cabinet, and cable management standards.

+ Escalate technical issues to senior technicians when necessary. Required Qualifications + 6 months to 2 years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, low voltage, IT support, network infrastructure, or data center environments.

+ Hands-on experience working with fiber optic and/or copper cabling.

+ Ability to identify and use common networking and cabling hardware.

+ Basic understanding of network infrastructure and data center operations.

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

+ Comfortable working around active network and server equipment.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders when required. Preferred Qualifications

+ Previous experience supporting data center or network infrastructure projects.

+ Experience with rack-and-stack installations.

+ Knowledge of fiber optic connectivity and structured cabling standards.

+ Experience using cable testing and troubleshooting tools.

+ Familiarity with patch panels, network switches, and server hardware.

+ Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, BICSI, CFOT, or equivalent technical training. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
