  • Hawthorne, CA) In this role, you will be supporting the global technology company's supercomputer for SpaceX.
The candidate will collaborate with both the customer and the client's remote teams as part of the site team responsible for maintaining system availability and uptime to meet customer SLAs. This position involves daily break‑fix work, extensive troubleshooting, and part replacement across the system. Working under the direction of the customer, you will respond directly to requests and assignments, providing technical and operational support along with guidance as needed. This is a 12-month contract-to-hire role, 40 hours/week, 5 days onsite role in Hawthorne, CA.
Responsibilities:
Maintain Linux supercomputer systems availability to meet customer SLAs. Perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs as required. Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate problems to higher‑level product support groups and management to ensure timely resolution. Provide technical design input and integration opportunities aligned with customer requirements. Work under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and customer representatives. Communicate across client community, adding value and demonstrating execution of company strategy. Contribute to knowledge tools and communities, ensuring project learnings are documented and shared. Role model knowledge sharing and re‑use within practice or profession.
Requirement:
5+ years of Linux HPC‑related experience, ideally with large‑scale HPC system administration and hardware support. Strong experience with Linux/Unix operating systems, file systems, networking, and security (Red Hat/CentOS or equivalent). Working knowledge of Linux OS (RHEL or SLES) preferred. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to diagnose complex technical problems to root cause and drive resolution. Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field; without a degree, 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
