Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an IT Help Desk
- Elections Technician for a temporary election cycle assignment in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
- Set up, configure, test, deploy, relocate, and maintain computers, peripherals, devices, and related IT equipment.
- Provide hands-on technical support for hardware, software, network-connected devices, and operational technology systems.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues, document resolutions, and escalate concerns according to established procedures.
- Assist with data entry, data verification, data management, and routine equipment readiness checks.
- Support election operations staff by preparing, testing, transporting, and positioning technology equipment as needed.
- Follow all procedures related to system access, data security, confidentiality, equipment handling, and chain of custody. Compensation and Benefits
Pay:
$22.00 per hour.- Assignment dates: September 21, 2026 through November 10, 2026.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.- Extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and potentially 7-day workweeks may be required based on operational needs.
Location:
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.- This position is contingent upon successful completion of required background screenings. Required Qualifications and Skills
- Set up, test, deploy, and maintain desktop computers, peripherals, and election support technology.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting for hardware, software, and connected device issues.
- Support operational readiness through data entry, equipment checks, documentation, and issue escalation.
- Follow secure handling, confidentiality, and chain-of-custody procedures in a public sector environment.
- 1 to 2 years of IT help desk, desktop support, technical support, or related hands-on technology experience.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, software troubleshooting, and network-connected devices.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, document work accurately, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, structured, and deadline-driven environment.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and potential 7-day schedules as needed. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government, public sector, election operations, logistics, or other high-compliance environments.
- Familiarity with equipment inventory, deployment, testing, relocation, or readiness check processes.
- Prior experience using ticketing systems, asset tracking tools, or data entry platforms.
