Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an IT Technicians for a temporary election cycle assignment in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented IT support candidate who enjoys hands-on technical work, equipment setup, troubleshooting, data entry, and supporting critical public sector operations. This opportunity offers meaningful work in a structured, mission-focused environment where accuracy, confidentiality, teamwork, and reliability are essential. Candidates will work alongside experienced operations and technology teams, receive clear procedures and direction, and play an important role in helping election technology and equipment remain ready, secure, and fully operational during a high-volume election period. Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, configure, test, deploy, relocate, and maintain computers, peripherals, devices, and related IT equipment.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for hardware, software, network-connected devices, and operational technology systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues, document resolutions, and escalate concerns according to established procedures.
  • Assist with data entry, data verification, data management, and routine equipment readiness checks.
  • Support election operations staff by preparing, testing, transporting, and positioning technology equipment as needed.
  • Follow all procedures related to system access, data security, confidentiality, equipment handling, and chain of custody. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay:
    $22.00 per hour.
  • Assignment dates: September 21, 2026 through November 10, 2026.
  • Schedule:
    Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and potentially 7-day workweeks may be required based on operational needs.
  • Location:
    Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.
  • This position is contingent upon successful completion of required background screenings. Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Provide technical support for computer hardware, software, devices, and election operations systems.
  • Set up, configure, test, deploy, transport, and position IT equipment and peripherals.
  • Perform troubleshooting, equipment checks, data entry, data verification, and support documentation.
  • Follow established security, confidentiality, equipment-handling, and operational procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant IT, technical support, equipment setup, troubleshooting, data entry, or operational support experience preferred for this level.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, hardware, software, peripherals, and network-connected devices.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong data entry skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Professional, dependable, punctual, flexible, and comfortable working in a business-casual office and secure election operations environment.
  • Ability to work the full assignment from September 21 through November 10 without planned interruptions.
  • Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and potentially up to seven days per week as operational needs require. Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous technical support or IT experience.
  • Experience setting up, troubleshooting, or maintaining computer hardware.
  • Experience supporting peripherals and network-connected devices.
  • Experience with data entry, database systems, or data verification.
  • Experience supporting technology in an office, warehouse, field, government, public sector, or other operational environment.
