The firm is preparing for significant growth and seeking IT apprentices to work on important IT projects. Background & Program Description An IT Equipment Refresh Technician is responsible for managing the lifecycle of end-user hardware, specifically replacing outdated laptops, desktops, and peripherals with new equipment. This role involves imaging new devices, migrating user data, and providing on-site support to ensure a seamless transition for employees. Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Deployment and Installation:
Unpack, configure, and install new desktop computers, laptops, monitors, and peripherals. 2.
Data Migration:
Transfer user profiles, files, and data from old equipment to new devices. 3.
Imaging and Software Configuration:
Image devices with authorized software, drivers, and security patches. 4.
Asset Management:
Update asset management systems (CMDB) to reflect new equipment, serial numbers, and ownership. 5.
Decommissioning:
Properly remove, wipe, and prepare old, obsolete equipment for disposal or recycling. 6.
User Support:
Provide deskside support to users, ensuring all peripheral equipment (printers, scanners, VOIP phones) is functional post-refresh. 7.
Scheduling:
Coordinate with users and departments to schedule, plan, and execute refresh appointments.
Requirements:

Experience:
1-3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical refresh roles. 2.
Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency with Windows 10/11 enterprise environments, imaging software (e.g., SCCM, Jamf), and Microsoft 365 applications. 3.
Troubleshooting:
Strong diagnostic skills for hardware and software issues. 4.
Physical Ability:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring crawling under desks for cable management. 5.
Certification:
CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar certifications are a plus.
