Job Vacancy:
Technology Technician I Terms of Employment:
12 months, full time, with benefits
Salary:
Bi-Monthly - NC State Salary Scale plus
Applicable Supplements Supervisor:
Chief Information Officer Nature of Work:
An employee in this class supports, repairs, and maintains Currituck County Schools' hardware, software, and network operations for all eleven (11) schools and district offices.
Training and Experience:
Two-year college or technical school degree in electronics or computers and job experience. OR Equivalent combination of education and job experience .
Knowledge and Skills:
(Not all-inclusive) Strong knowledge of hardware and software used in educational and administrative settings. General knowledge of network operations. (Windows 11, ChromeOS, and Microsoft Active Directory) Understanding of mechanical, electronic, and computer principles as applied to the installation, repair, and maintenance of hardware and software used in educational and administrative settings. Strong customer service skills. Strong understanding of confidentiality (CIPPA, FERPA, etc.) General understanding of Google Suite for Education.
Abilities:
(Not all-inclusive) Troubleshoot when hardware or software aren't functioning as expected. Lift/carry or pack/unpack hardware (sometimes heavy). Work under pressure, at times, in a fast paced environment. Communicate effectively with all levels of technology users. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Work alone or with a team, and adjust when the need arises.
Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check. Must have a valid driver's license, as this position requires movement between buildings. Must have a smartphone for use during work hours (monthly reimbursement paid)
