Job Description

The Ober Gatlinburg IT Department is seeking an experienced and motivated IT Level II Technician - to support and guide the day‑to‑day operations of our technology environment. This role is ideal for a highly organized, technically skilled individual who can balance hands‑on technical work with team leadership responsibilities. The IT Level II will manage and support critical systems—including point‑of‑sale (POS) hardware, networking components, mobile devices, and enterprise applications—and ensure the reliable operation of resort‑wide technology. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, internal users, and leadership. The level II Tech will also perform system administration duties, maintain accurate asset inventories, and contribute to the security, performance, and stability of the organization's IT infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues. Ensure proper documentation, ticket handling, and process compliance across the team. Perform systems administration tasks across multiple platforms and applications. Administer Microsoft Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, and permissions. Administer Cisco Meraki network components, including access points, switches, and firewalls. Manage Office 365 administration, including licensing, mailboxes, and security settings. Support administration of Paradox, Freedom, and SkiData systems. Administer and troubleshoot Voice over IP (VOIP) phone systems. Provide prompt, courteous, and professional technical assistance to internal users. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot POS systems and peripherals (printers, scanners, card readers, etc.). Manage and support iPads and mobile devices via Hexnode MDM, including deployments, profiles, updates, and compliance monitoring. Maintain accurate technical asset records within Asset Panda, ensuring real‑time tracking of hardware and software. Perform preventative maintenance on hardware, network devices, and mission‑critical systems. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot end‑user software including Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products, and business‑critical applications. Diagnose and resolve issues involving desktops, laptops, tablets, and connected peripherals. Monitor and resolve IT support tickets, thoroughly document findings and resolutions. Communicate directly and effectively with vendors for equipment, services, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Support the IT Manager with special projects, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. Assist with database backups, software updates, and system monitoring tasks as required. Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Perform other related duties as assigned by the IT Manager
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
3+ years of IT Experience or equivalent technical training. Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; relevant certifications strongly preferred (A+, Network+, CCNA, etc.). Able to lift 50 lbs. as needed for equipment installation or relocation. Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be a strong team player. Must be able to work well with outside vendors and partners.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
