Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Network Systems Support Technician to join a local IT support team. This role is essential in maintaining and troubleshooting our organization's network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity, security, and optimal performance across all systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in computer networking, hardware and software troubleshooting, and customer support, contributing to a reliable and efficient IT environment. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive technical support for network systems, including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), and firewall configurations. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues related to computers, servers, mobile devices, and network equipment such as routers and switches. Assist users with desktop support tasks, including operating system issues (Windows), software troubleshooting, and equipment setup. Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory, ensuring secure access control. Monitor network performance using tools like Meraki and DNS management systems; identify and resolve connectivity issues promptly. Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of networking hardware and software components. Maintain detailed records of customer support tickets, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions using help desk systems. Key Responsibilities Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for end users, including troubleshooting workstations, network, and server issues. Administer and maintain Microsoft environments, including Windows Server domains, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. Diagnose and resolve issues related to servers, desktops, and applications with minimal supervision.-Participate in the setup, configuration, and support of VOIP systems (experience preferred). Collaborate with senior engineers on projects such as server migrations, system upgrades, and network improvements. Deliver excellent on-site customer service and technical support; represent the company professionally in front of clients. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and solutions implemented. Occasionally travel to client sites Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes. Strong technical support skills with experience in help desk systems and customer service best practices. In-depth knowledge of computer networking concepts including
LAN, TCP/IP
protocols, DNS management, and network troubleshooting techniques. Experience supporting Windows operating systems and hardware components. Familiarity with IT infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points like Meraki. Ability to troubleshoot software issues related to operating systems and applications efficiently. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with users at all technical levels. Analysis skills to interpret system logs and diagnose complex network problems accurately. Knowledge of Active Directory management for user account administration.
