In addition to managed IT services, Nerd Nation offers computer and electronic repair, giving clients a single trusted partner for a wide range of technical needs. Team members work closely with customers to maintain reliable systems and resolve issues quickly. Role Description The Tier 1 IT Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Cody, WY, responsible for providing front-line technical support to business clients and internal users. Day-to-day tasks include responding to support tickets, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up workstations and peripherals, and assisting with basic network connectivity problems. The technician will document incidents and resolutions, escalate complex issues to higher-level support when needed, and help maintain accurate asset and configuration records. This role interacts regularly with customers to understand their needs, provide clear communication, and ensure a positive service experience. The technician may also assist with user training on common applications, security best practices, and company systems. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills for hardware, software, and basic networking issues. Candidates should possess foundational Information Technology knowledge, including operating systems, common business applications, and security best practices. Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, patiently, and professionally with users of varying technical backgrounds. Candidates should possess the ability to deliver basic Training and guidance to end users on systems, tools, and procedures. Additional beneficial qualifications include prior help desk or desktop support experience, familiarity with HIPAA and PCI compliance environments, and strong documentation habits. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) or related coursework are a plus. Have at least 1 year of experience in help desk (3 years preferred). Ability to work on-site in Cody, WY, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively with a small technical team. Ability to work hours of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday with the occasional late evening or weekend for projects as they may come up.
