Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Kforce has a client that is seeking a ServiceNow Scrum Master in Walnut Creek, CA.Summary:
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery across both Scrum and Kanban teams supporting a critical ServiceNow environment. This role is ideal for a servant leader who thrives on enabling high-performing teams, removing roadblocks, improving delivery predictability, and driving continuous improvement across development and operations.Responsibilities:
Agile Leadership & Team Enablement:
- Serve as Scrum Master for ServiceNow development teams, facilitating all Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Coach Scrum and Kanban teams on Agile principles, flow optimization, work prioritization, and continuous improvement
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and self-organization
- Facilitate backlog refinement sessions and partner closely with Product Owners to ensure work is prioritized and ready for execution
Release & Deployment Coordination:
- Support release planning activities and help align features, priorities, and dependencies across teams
- Coordinate ServiceNow deployments and release execution activities with development, testing, platform, and operations teams
- Ensure release readiness by validating completion of testing, documentation, approvals, and deployment requirements
- Assist with risk management, dependency tracking, status reporting, and overall delivery coordination
- Partner with Change Management teams to ensure smooth production deployments within established governance processes
Continuous Improvement:
- Promote Agile best practices and operational excellence across the ServiceNow ecosystem
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment
Agile & Scrum Expertise:
- 5+ years of overall IT experience with exposure to software development, service management, or enterprise platforms
- 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or similar Agile leadership role
- Experience with Agile planning, backlog management, user story development, and release coordination
- Experience using Agile delivery and work management tools
- Demonstrated success supporting both Scrum and Kanban teams
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills
ServiceNow Experience:
- 2+ years of experience supporting teams delivering solutions on the ServiceNow platform
- Experience supporting ServiceNow implementations, upgrades, deployments, and release activities
- Experience working within ITIL-based Change Management environments
- Knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, platform capabilities, and development lifecycle
- Familiarity with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HAM, SecOps, or similar offerings
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
