Brooksource is looking for an experienced and passionate Agile Scrum Master to serve as a servant-leader for one or more cross-functional development teams for our client. The Scrum Master will guide teams through the Scrum framework, facilitate all sprint ceremonies, remove impediments, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and collaboration. This role is central to delivering high-quality products through time-boxed iterations (sprints) and ensuring the team consistently achieves its sprint goals.Key Objectives:
- Ensure teams understand and consistently apply Scrum values, principles, and practices
- Enable delivery of high‑quality outcomes through structured sprint iterations
- Foster a collaborative, self‑organizing team environment
- Identify and remove obstacles that impact team productivity and deliver
- Promote Agile values of transparency, inspection, and adaptation
- Coach team members toward improved self‑management and cross‑functional collaboration
- Protect the team from external distractions and unnecessary scope changes
Core Responsibilities:
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Ensure sprints are time‑boxed with clearly defined, achievable goals
- Guide teams in sprint planning, estimation, capacity planning, and velocity tracking
- Prevent over‑commitment and protect the team from scope creep
- Maintain Scrum boards and Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Trello), ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date tracking
- Coach teams on Agile and Scrum principles, best practices, and self‑organization
- Support effective backlog refinement, story creation, and task breakdown
- Partner with the Product Owner to prioritize and maintain a well‑groomed backlog
- Facilitate communication between development teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders
- Manage stakeholder expectations around sprint scope and delivery timelines
- Identify, track, and remove blockers and impediments impacting team progress
- Escalate risks and issues as needed to ensure timely resolution
- Track and report on sprint progress, velocity, and delivery metrics
- Lead retrospectives and drive actionable continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or a related field
- 2-3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or working in an Agile environment
- Scrum certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II)
- Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, or similar
- Strong verbal and written communication and facilitation skills
- Servant‑leader mindset with the ability to influence without authority
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced, evolving environments Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications such as A‑CSM, SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or CSP‑SM
- Experience with scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Nexus)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and SDLCs
- Background in IT project management or software engineering
- Experience supporting Agile transformation initiatives
- Knowledge of Kanban or Lean methodologies
