Up to 10% of the time LaunchTech is a veteran-owned company that prides itself on delivering service before self and excellence in all we do. We are seeking dynamic professionals who embody our core values of Integrity, Commitment, and Excellence to join our growing Crew in support of our customers across the federal, state, and commercial markets. Do you thrive at the intersection of Agile leadership and enterprise IT? This role directly supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract, where your expertise as a Scrum Master drives cohesive delivery across geographically dispersed technical teams. What You'll Be Doing The IT Scrum Master will work in close partnership with the Release Train Engineer (RTE). Because our technical teams are geographically dispersed, this position will operate in an onsite, hybrid environment, facilitating collaboration across a mix of in-person and virtual team members in both Huntsville and Colorado Springs.
The candidate will:
Partner directly with the RTE to define, mature, and align the Scrum Master role with program-level SAFe frameworks and Agile release trains. Collaborate with the RTE to design, implement, and train the IT team on customized Agile processes, helping technical staff smoothly transition to a structured Agile delivery model. Establish a cohesive "one-team" dynamic across geographically split locations (HSV and COS) by leveraging virtual collaboration tools and maintaining an inclusive hybrid engagement model. Facilitate an optimized Agile battle rhythm tailored to the unique operational needs and delivery cycles of the IT and infrastructure teams. Guide and coach the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices to deliver high-quality IT solutions. Assist the Product Owner and Technical Leads with backlog maintenance, prioritizing IT initiatives, and translating technical requirements into actionable user stories. Assist the team by making sure all data for planning is documented into the system of record for accurate reporting and metrics development. Deliver metrics to the RTE on a reoccurring (weekly) basis. Identify, track, and actively resolve impediments or blockers that hinder the team's ability to meet Sprint goals. Manage and track team capacity, sprint velocity, and burn-down charts using Agile lifecycle management tools. Facilitate cross-team coordination and dependency management, especially when rolling out complex enterprise system upgrades or resolving break/fix activities. Ensure that IT service delivery and cybersecurity compliance tasks are properly integrated into the Agile workflow. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the team.
The successful candidate will:
Possess a strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and mentor highly technical engineers who may be new to Agile frameworks. Be a collaborative partner capable of aligning team-level operations with the broader organizational vision defined by the program's RTE. Be highly proficient in managing remote/virtual team dynamics, ensuring active participation and communication across multiple time zones. Be able to quickly learn challenging IT and infrastructure concepts to better understand team impediments and technical debt. Be comfortable operating in an ambiguous, "greenfield" environment to build and document standard Agile processes from the ground up. Effectively function as a self-starter, identifying project risks, resource bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve team efficiency. Have excellent presentation, oral, and written skills to facilitate effective interchanges with senior customer management, Product Owners, and technical staff. Have a "can-do" attitude, be able to work in a very high-pace and dynamic enterprise IT environment and embrace change.
What You Bring Basic Requirements:
Must have 4, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience May be reduced with completion of advanced education Must have 2, or more, years of directly related experience acting as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Project Manager. Must hold a current Agile certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)). Must have experience applying Agile methodologies to IT operations. Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance Must be able to obtain an active DoW Top Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Requirements:
