Senior Scrum Master Location:
Southlake, TX•On-site 4 days per week
Duration:
6+ Months (Contract to hire) About the job The Scrum Master plays a hands-on, servant-leader role in managing the Scrum process within software development teams. In this role, you will help teams adopt, mature, and improve upon the Scrum methodology while ensuring adherence to the Scrum framework. Working closely with Product Owners and cross-functional groups-including AI-native engineering teams-you will facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution to deliver continuous business value. You will act as the Scrum framework authority for your teams, educating members and stakeholders on Agile values and principles. Responsibilities Act as a Scrum Master for 2+ Agile teams simultaneously, creating a motivated, self-organizing, and self-sufficient environment. Organize and facilitate effective Scrum events, including backlog grooming, Sprint planning, daily Scrums, Sprint reviews, and Sprint retrospectives. Work alongside and support AI-native engineering teams to improve engineering practices and tools. Support the Product Owner by assisting with backlog development, release plan maintenance, and communicating stakeholder updates. Radiate information to ensure that team progress, velocity, and successes are highly visible (e.g., via backlogs, burndown/up charts). Proactively identify and facilitate the removal of team impediments, escalating them as appropriate to ensure the team meets its Sprint goals. Assist the team in establishing a consistent and predictable team-level cadence (velocity) and encourage routine inspection and adaptation. Facilitate cross-team coordination and collaboration in complex, multi-team enterprise environments. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent related experience). 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master. 5+ years of experience in a software development environment, preferably involving cross-team dependencies. 3+ years of experience managing customer expectations, project schedules, status reporting, and change management. Demonstrated success scaling AI-assisted software development across multiple teams. Experience leading teams in a large, complex enterprise environment where projects involve more than one Scrum team. Thorough understanding of the Agile Manifesto, Agile values/principles, and the Scrum Guide. Expertise in backlog grooming, relative estimating, release/sprint planning, Scrum metrics, and retrospective techniques. Strong servant-leadership, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills with a transparent and situationally aware approach. Preferred Qualifications Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, etc.). Experience with one or more scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, DAD, Nexus). Past experience operating as a traditional project and/or program manager. Knowledge of DevOps principles, including continuous integration, continuous build, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and techniques.
