Job Description

Mission The A-C Electric Company Internship Experience Program offers a hands-on, project-based learning opportunity for students passionate about software development and digital solutions in a business and construction industry setting. Over the course of this 10-week summer internship , you will work closely with our development team to design, build, and test software tools and applications that improve efficiency across our operations. You'll gain experience in coding, application integration, data processing, and user interface design , while learning how development projects are managed from concept to deployment in a real-world corporate environment.
About You:
We are looking for humble and hungry, agile students who have a drive for results, a desire to learn, and who can quickly build relationships. We are looking for students who are passionate about engineering and the construction industry.
Desired Majors:
Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems Key Responsibilities:
Over the course of our 10-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to: Assist in designing and coding custom applications, scripts, and tools to support company operations Work with senior developers to test, debug, and deploy software solutions Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and maintainability Help integrate new applications with existing systems such as ERP, project management, and data analytics platforms Maintain and update documentation for software tools, APIs, and processes Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into functional software features Support data migration and cleanup efforts as part of system upgrades or transitions Participate in Book Club assignments to enhance communication, teamwork, and leadership skills Contribute to a LEAN development project , presenting your work to company leadership at the end of the internship Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): Ability to work full-time (40 hours/ week) for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2029 Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): We're looking for students who have shown solid academic performance — at least a 3.0 GPA in upper-division courses for your major, or a 2.75 GPA overall. Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations. Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships. Exceptional communication skills, interest, and enthusiasm related to electrical engineering and/or construction.
Relocation:
Must be able to relocate to Bakersfield, CA for the entirety of the internship.

Pay Range:
$19.00/hr. - $24.00/hr . Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
