Job Description A client in the entertainment industry is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and support cloud-based advertising platforms that power streaming and ad-supported video experiences. This individual will design and develop backend services, APIs, and microservices that support ad delivery, ad signaling, reporting, and operational tooling. Responsibilities include improving system reliability and performance, integrating with third-party advertising platforms, monitoring service health, troubleshooting production issues, and partnering with Product, DevOps, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable AdTech solutions. The role will also leverage data and observability tools to provide insights into platform performance and support ongoing enhancements for advertising operations and business stakeholders. Skills and Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience using C#, Golang, or similar modern languages
- Strong experience building scalable distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native applications
- Hands-on experience with AWS, serverless architectures, and backend service development
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of monitoring, observability, and logging tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, or CloudWatch
- Previous AdTech experience, including ad serving, advertising signals, privacy signals, and industry standards such as VAST, VMAP, or SSAI
- Experience collaborating with Product, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience with streaming technologies including AVOD, FAST, HLS, DASH, and CDN delivery
- Familiarity with ad servers such as Freewheel, Publica, or SpringServe
- Knowledge of Open
RTB, SSP
integrations, and advertising analytics platforms
- Experience with video encoding, transcoding, or media delivery workflows
- Familiarity with SCTE-35, manifest manipulation, and stream delivery pipelines
