The candidate should also have made decisions or worked as an architect, needs to demonstrate how. The candidate must have personally developed production code, made AWS service-selection decisions, implemented Infrastructure as Code, and technically led other developers. Mainframe, CDC, insurance, and UI experience are valuable but not required. The hiring manager is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with strong AWS expertise who can: Lead and mentor a growing engineering team. The most important requirement is technical leadership . Understand solution architecture and translate it into executable technical solutions. Guide engineers, establish best practices, and set the technical direction. Drive cloud and integration initiatives. Act as a hands-on technical leader while also coaching less experienced team members. The emphasis is on someone who has successfully led technical teams and can influence architecture, engineering practices, and delivery. Secondary Objectives While hands-on development is expected, the role is not intended to be a combination of multiple specialist positions (e.g., software engineer, DevOps engineer, integration engineer, and data engineer all in one).

Understand DevOps and infrastructure concepts well enough to collaborate with and influence DevOps practitioners. Work effectively with infrastructure teams rather than own DevOps as a full-time function. Contribute to integration and platform engineering efforts.
