With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, were now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.
Overview
Joby Aviation is seeking a driven engineer with C++ development skills and experience, an ability to understand complex problems and create reliable, repeatable solutions. This engineer will play a key role in a small, fast-moving team. They will participate in architecture, design, and implementation of solutions that support and expand our integrated vehicle simulators. They will work with software and hardware engineers across the company to help them test and improve their solutions.
Responsibilities
Help maintain and improve solutions that combine simulated and hardware environments to test the behavior of on-vehicle software as if it were on the vehicle
Architect, design, and develop improvements and extensions for simulation software
Enhance the simulations to more accurately reflect the behavior in actual vehicles of the software being tested
Enhance the performance and reliability of the simulations solutions
Adapt simulations to new vehicle designs
Provide support and consulting to users of the simulation across the organization that depend on the simulators for their daily work
Required
University degree in computer science or computer engineering and 5+ year's industry experience. An advanced degree and 3+ years' experience will also be considered
Significant experience and demonstrable expertise in C++
Understanding of Continuous Integration, Continuous Development (CI/CD) and DevOps tools
Familiarity with Linux OS and command-line tools
Willingness to be flexible and learn new technologies
Desired
Understanding of aircraft and aviation (or development in a regulatory environment)
Network experience (VLANs, UDP, Wireshark, etc)
Experience working with the Linux scheduler
Experience developing software using Python
Additional Information
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $120,500k - $160,500k. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
