Operations Systems & AI Automation Location:
Connecticut (On-Site)
Compensation:
$120,000 - $140,000 About the Opportunity A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and enhance the systems that support operations, inventory, logistics, maintenance, reporting, and business analytics. This individual will work directly with operational leaders to streamline processes, replace manual workflows, and develop scalable software solutions that improve efficiency and decision-making across the business. This is an opportunity to own projects from concept through deployment while leveraging automation and AI technologies to solve real-world operational challenges. What You'll Do Build and maintain internal business applications and operational systems Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions Develop tools for inventory management, production planning, job costing, and reporting Create dashboards, alerts, and analytics that improve visibility across the organization Build workflow automation and AI-powered solutions, including OCR and document processing Develop applications that support logistics, dispatch, maintenance, and asset management Integrate data from multiple systems to improve reporting and decision-making Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and automation What You'll Bring 3+ years of software engineering experience Strong full-stack development skills Experience with modern backend technologies, relational databases, and APIs Experience building applications from concept through deployment Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders Strong communication and problem-solving skills Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of projects AI & Automation Experience Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft AI, or similar technologies OCR and document-processing experience Workflow automation experience Exposure to forecasting, machine learning, or predictive analytics Understanding of AI reliability and validation practices Preferred Experience Manufacturing, ERP, inventory, or logistics systems Fleet management or maintenance applications Procurement automation Route optimization Operational analytics and reporting Why Join?
