JOB TITLE
: Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]
LOCATION
: 880 Powder Mill Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel.
DUTIES :
Provide guidance and direction to the engineering team, ensuring that technical standards and best practices are followed. Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Lead the design and architecture of software systems, making critical decisions about technology stack, frameworks, and tools. Ensure the quality of the codebase through regular code reviews and by implementing testing strategies. Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments or stakeholders, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Address and resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks that arise during the development process. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements within the team. Identify potential risks in the project lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel to JPMC partner sites.
REQUIREMENTS
: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study plus 6 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, or related occupation. This position requires experience with the following: Designing, deploying, and managing scalable, highly available, and secure systems on private cloud; Implementing security measures, compliance standards, and authentication/authorization including oAuth2 and Spring Security; Building, deploying, and orchestrating containerized applications using Docker and Docker Compose; Developing robust, scalable applications and microservices using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot, with best practices and design patterns; Managing project dependencies, build processes, and automated testing using Maven, Junit, and TDD practices; Designing and optimizing relational database schemas including Oracle, writing complex SQL and CQL queries, and ensuring database performance and security; Implementing and managing messaging and streaming systems using Kafka; Monitoring and optimizing application performance using Dynatrace and Splunk; Conducting performance and load testing using JMeter, and integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines; Managing source code repositories and collaborating with teams using GIT and branching strategies; Designing and developing RESTful APIs, including JSON and XML data handling, validation, and transformation; Automating infrastructure provisioning and management and infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices; Implementing enterprise integration patterns and workflows using Spring Integration; Implementing encryption algorithms and managing encryption keys and certificates for data security compliance; and Communicating across technical organizations, the business, and a critical strategic partner. Full-time.
