Job Description
Tencarva Machinery Company is seeking an Applications Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team in the manufacturing sector. In this role, you will develop and specify pump and fluid-handling solutions, prepare proposals, and support engineered systems for industrial and municipal customers. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and fabrication to ensure technically sound, cost-effective designs. Responsibilities Analyze customer specifications, operating data, and process requirements to select appropriate pumps and process equipment. Develop technical proposals, quotations, and submittal packages including performance data, pricing, and scope of supply. Perform basic hydraulic and mechanical calculations, including sizing, system curves, and NPSH checks. Use manufacturer selection software and CAD tools to configure equipment and prepare system layouts or drawings. Support Sales Engineers during pre- and post-sale activities with technical guidance and product expertise. Participate in customer meetings, calls, and occasional site visits to clarify requirements, present solutions, and resolve issues. Coordinate with internal engineering, service, and project management teams to develop and execute custom and packaged system solutions. Troubleshoot application and performance problems and recommend replacement, retrofit, or upgrade solutions. Maintain accurate records of quotations, projects, and customer interactions in CRM and ERP systems. Stay current on Tencarva's product lines, industry standards, and best practices in pump and process system applications. Required Skills Pump and fluid handling system design and selection Hydraulic calculations and system curve development Reading and interpreting P&IDs, RFQs, and technical specifications Technical proposal and quotation development Use of pump selection and configuration software Basic 2 D CAD skills for layouts and equipment arrangements Industrial process knowledge (water/wastewater, chemical, power, manufacturing) Troubleshooting pump and system performance issues CRM and ERP system proficiency Technical writing and documentation Customer-facing communication and presentation skills Project and time management across multiple quotes and projects
