Epitec is seeking to support a leading global automotive manufacturer by hiring a Software Engineer Controls to join the SW Updates Test Automation & Tools Development team. This role focuses on developing Python-based automation tools, frameworks, and test infrastructure that support automated testing of infotainment, connectivity, and vehicle software technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong Python development experience, a software engineering foundation, and an interest in test automation and CI/CD environments.

Market Rate Medical Benefits & PTO Included Responsibilities Develop and maintain Python-based software tools supporting automated testing efforts. Create and maintain test libraries interfacing with ECUs, test management systems, and defect tracking platforms. Develop automation scripts that convert manual test cases into automated tests. Maintain automation configurations, execution pipelines, and test infrastructure. Partner with software development and manual testing teams to gather requirements and implement automation solutions. Participate in code reviews and contribute to software quality improvements. Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues through root cause analysis. Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, scalability, and reliability. Contribute to Agile Scrum ceremonies and sprint deliverables. Requirements Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. 2+ years of Python development experience.
Experience with:
Object-oriented programming Data structures and algorithms Multithreading concepts Software design and development Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative Agile environment. Comfortable working onsite 4 days per week. Preferred PyTest , Slash, or other automated testing frameworks. Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline experience. Linux and Windows command-line scripting. Batch, shell scripting, or automation engineering experience. Groovy, Java, or C++ development experience. GitHub source control experience. Jira and TestRail experience. Embedded Linux or QNX experience. Django or web application development. Squish or automated GUI testing tools.
