Direct Hire - Salary up to $120k Think Consulting is seeking a highly technical Python / AWS Infrastructure Automation Engineer to support a Software Defined Networking (SDN) team responsible for automating network and networksecurity functions across a largescale AWS environment. This role centers on cloud infrastructure engineering and automation-not application development. The ideal candidate brings deep AWS networking expertise, strong Python automation skills, and extensive experience building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions in enterprise cloud environments. Key Responsibilities AWS Networking & Infrastructure Automation Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for AWS networking and security infrastructure.

Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation and related AWS-native technologies.

Develop Python automation to streamline provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational workflows.

Automate network provisioning, routing configuration, security group management, and network security controls.

Deploy and manage AWS-native services to support scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure.

Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and automation initiatives.

Collaborate with cloud, networking, security, and platform teams to implement enterprise cloud strategies.

Support software-defined networking initiatives across AWS environments.

Develop technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and networking issues.

Promote automation best practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and supporting cloud infrastructure environments.

Strong AWS experience, with emphasis on networking and infrastructure services.

Proficiency in Python scripting and automation.

Significant experience with CloudFormation and IaC methodologies.

Deep understanding of AWS networking concepts, including:

VPCs

CIDR

Route Tables

Security Groups

Network ACLs (NACLs)

Network Segmentation

Load Balancing

Experience designing secure, highly available, and scalable AWS environments.

Experience implementing network security automation and infrastructure orchestration.

Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.

Automation & DevOps Experience Python automation (required)

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.

AWS certifications (verification required prior to submission).

Experience supporting missioncritical enterprise environments.

Experience with software-defined networking (SDN).

Understanding of cloud resiliency, failover, disaster recovery, and faulttolerant architectures.

Knowledge of security best practices, encryption, access control, and compliance frameworks.

Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
