Job Summary All IT Solutions is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join a client engagement. Responsibilities Apply principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of embedded software and systems Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software Applications span medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment for product lines Develop embedded software for electronics control systems supporting diesel engine and battery electric/fuel cell programs Areas of responsibility include configuration, integration, build and testing of embedded software Test software for embedded electronic control systems, including requirements development and verification in a bench environment Troubleshoot software or system defects Close Required Qualifications Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with an embedded focus 5-7 years experience At least five years industry experience in C programming, Model Based Development, and embedded control software development experience Solid programming experience in C or C++ Model-Based Development experience Embedded control software development experience Familiarity with debuggers / good debugging and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to embedded systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc Verbal and written communication skills Problem-solving skills Customer service and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team environment, communicating technical information and development progress to team members and others Strong analytical skills Strong communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Preferred Qualifications Application Software development and integration skills Experience with communications software/protocols/etc Embedded Operating System experience Experience with model based development tools: Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow Experience with scripting languages such as Python Experience with Engine or Machine controls development Experience working with and troubleshooting electrical systems Prior work experience with CAN/SAE J1939 and Ethernet
