About The Role The Peraton Health, State and Local Sector is seeking a Software Develop ment , Lead Associate to join us in supporting and maintaining the Medicare Fee For Service claims processing system. In this role, you will be a senior technical contributor on an Agile team providing maintenance and operations support for the Medicare Durable Medical Equipment ( DME) contract. As a Software Development, Lead Associate, you will you will work within a highly structured and rigorous development environment that follows the SAFe Agile/Scrum framework. This role focuses on handling project coordination and technical design to hands-on coding, unit testing, and defect resolution across functional areas of the mainframe legacy DME system. Quality is vital to this mission, the role will build and execute unit test plans, test cases, and test data including COBOL and Assembler components. This role will also handle installing changes into internal testing regions, troubleshooting and resolving defects, identifying process improvements, and keeping technical documentation current. Additionally, this Lead Associate role will be translating customer goals and requirements into actionable work items for the team, while serving as a technical resource and mentor to developers.
Responsibilities:
Design, codes, and unit tests, and debugs enhancements and fixes to the health claims processing system while adhering to strict coding standards. Participates as a senior member of a persistent Agile development team supporting maintenance and operations. Leads and completes development of complex components within the mainframe environment. Works with minimal direction, exercising independent judgement on technical approaches and solutions. Leads and participates in design activities, providing technical guidance on maintenance solutions. Demonstrates advanced use and application of development concepts, practices, and techniques. Designs, prepares and executes unit tests; represents team to clients on technical matters. Provides solutions to a wide variety of complex technical problems. Contributes to strategic technical direction of the development teams. Applies technical knowledge to deliver maintenance solutions across multiple technology areas with minimal direction. Implements end-user and enterprise solutions of high complexity with minimal direction. Integrates deep technical expertise and business understanding to deliver stable, reliable solutions for clients. Consults with team members and other organizations, clients and vendors on complex technical issues. Provides time and resource estimates for assigned tasks and projects. Develops solutions to complex business and technology problems in areas of proven expertise. Mentors and provides technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers on the team.
Qualifications Education & Experience:
BS/BA with 6+ years of relevant experience; or Masters with 4 years of relevant experience; or HS diploma with 10+ years experience. 6+ years of mainframe development experience in production or maintenance environment. Proficiency with mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM. Knowledge of health care claims processing, particularly Medicare Fee for Service. Ability to perform well in a highly rigorous structured development environment. Demonstrated experience as a senior software developer in a mainframe environment. Demonstrated ability to determine and decompose business and technical requirements. Application lifecycle methodology experience, specifically Agile/SCRUM Strong communication skills and technical writing ability. Ability to develop application project solutions and estimating. Experience with Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, DME or Medicare Common Working File (CWF) specific processing systems. Experience working with or in support of CMS programs and contracts. Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps tools and frameworks through plan, define, build, test, release and deploy process. Familiarity with development and collaboration tools: GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse (IDz/RDz) SAFe experience and/or certification. Must be able to achieve and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with Assembler language in a mainframe environment. Familiarity with development and collaboration tools: GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse (IDz/RDz). Exposure to modern languages such as Java or Python.
Details Target Salary Range:
$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
