Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company is seeking Junior Software Developer in Patuxent River, MD to support mission-critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands-on development experience, and familiarity with real-time systems to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment.
Position Type:
Full-Time Salary:
$75k-$85k annually (depending on experience)
Work Location:
Onsite.
Essential Functions:
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C/C++ and other object-oriented languages Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions Support system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionality Contribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testing Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities Other duties as assigned or required
Requirements Required:
Experience developing in C/C++ Experience working in object orientation Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications
Desired:
Experience with Ada95/98 Experience with real-time operating systems Familiarity with Mission Systems Avionics Knowledge of military narrowband communications
Education/Years of Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering discipline (must be a completed, accredited degree) required. 1-3 years of relevant professional or internship experience in software development
Security Clearance:
Active Top Secret clearance required.
