SITEC Consulting is continuously seeking experienced Software Engineers and Software Developers to support current and anticipated Department of Defense (DoD) programs involving mission-critical software development, sustainment, modernization, integration, and testing. This posting is intended to identify qualified candidates for upcoming opportunities supporting high-visibility defense and mission-planning environments. Positions may vary based on program requirements, technical focus, location, and level of experience. Key Responsibilities Depending on the specific program assignment, responsibilities may include: Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and sustain mission-critical software applications. Analyze software requirements, system deficiencies, defects, and proposed enhancements. Troubleshoot complex software and application issues and implement effective technical solutions. Support software modernization, migration, integration, refactoring, and performance-improvement initiatives. Participate in Agile software development activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily collaboration, reviews, and capability demonstrations. Collaborate with software developers, testers, systems engineers, cybersecurity professionals, DevSecOps personnel, and government stakeholders. Support DevSecOps processes, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, and software-release activities. Maintain source code, configuration items, version-controlled repositories, and technical documentation. Assist with identifying technical risks, dependencies, and potential mitigation strategies. Contribute to software quality, security, reliability, and continuous process improvement. Support secure software-development practices within DoD and federal environments. Travel periodically when required by program needs. Qualifications Qualified candidates should generally possess 6 or more years of relevant software engineering or software development experience, including experience in several of the following areas: Development, enhancement, or sustainment of mission-critical, federal, defense, or enterprise software applications. Software design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and lifecycle support. Agile or iterative software-development methodologies. DevSecOps practices and modern software-delivery pipelines. Configuration management, source control, version control, and defect-tracking tools. Software troubleshooting, debugging, root-cause analysis, and technical problem solving. Development and maintenance of technical documentation. Collaboration within cross-functional engineering and technical teams. Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: DoD or federal software-development environments. Mission-planning or operational-planning software. Software modernization and legacy-system migration. Secure software development. Automated software testing. CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps toolchains. Cloud-based software-development environments. Containerized or virtualized application environments. Software integration with complex DoD or enterprise systems. Clearance Requirements Security clearance requirements will vary by position and program. Some opportunities may require an active DoD security clearance and/or eligibility for additional access.
